I have always been a procrastinator as long as I can remember. From writing papers in school to renewing my tabs for my car to mailing my bills. This is why I do as much as I can on the internet. It's fast, easy and if I put it off to the last minute the transaction is generally immediate.
Until today. As usual my birthday has come and gone and I still have not renewed my tabs. I tried to on Tuesday night at the DMV Super Center, they have a machine with 24/7 access. I went through all of the steps, but when it came time to pay I realized I had forgotten my debit card at home and the machine doesn't take cash. Strike one.
Today I went back to the DMV (with debit card!) only to walk in and see an "Out of Order" sign hanging from the machine. The line inside looks like a minimum of a two hour wait. Strike two.
I came back to work and figured I'll just renew online and print the confirmation in the unlucky event I get pulled over for expired tabs, so I can at least show they've been renewed but I haven't received yet. I enter the PIN number and I receive an error! I read through and find out you can't renew once your registration is expired. Strike three!
Mark's response to all of this: "Don't worry babe, I go for months before I renew mine!" Yes, I know this to be true. However, with the luck I've been having, and the lesson the Secretary of State gods are trying to teach me, it'll be my luck I will not only be pulled over and written a ticket, but my car will be impounded and pillaged for parts. Sound extreme? Nah, this is my luck...lol
So now I guess I will be making daily visits to the DMV to check on the machine, praying I don't get pulled over.
**Dear SOS gods - I have learned my lesson!!**
