Another busy but great weekend, spent with more great people is behind me. Today is Memorial Day, and I cannot forget to mention first how much I appreciate the men and women who serve our country so we can be free. I have 2 cousins who serve our country and I'm proud of them both.
Saturday was spent doing photography for a beautiful wedding with my best friend. I always love weddings; the beautiful dress, flowers, cake... The bride who no doubt feels like a princess, watching the bride and groom exchange their vows. You can see the love just radiate off of them, it's practically contagious. I always feel renewed after a wedding. I also love being able to work with my best friend, learning from her. She is absolutely brilliant at what she does. I love how she can capture the most private and intimate moment, without anyone even knowing. Her pictures are beautiful and inspiring and I'm always thankful for any opportunity I get to work with her. We always have a great time and share some laughs.
Sunday I took my mom to see my dress. My future sister-in-law, mother-in-law and 2 of my closest friends were able to meet us there. Everyone loved my dress, or they were just too sweet to tell me otherwise :) The store was slow so Billie and Amy tried on some brides maids dresses. We found some favorites and had a great time.
Julie and her baby Alex spent the night last night. I have to apologize to her again for falling asleep so early!! Fortunately for me she knows how I am and seems to love and accept me as is :) We grilled burgers and hot dogs for lunch, with a nice summer salad, fresh watermelon, and peach margaritas. I always love our visits, we definitely need more of them.
Tonight as I started to put things together for school and work tomorrow, Parker came out of his room "just to tell me how much he loves me." He put his arms around me to hug me and "oh, by the way, I can't sleep." I took him back to bed and he asked me if I would help him fall asleep like I used to do. I sat with him for about 20 minutes, rubbing his back and his head and I realized I haven't done this with him in a long time. He suddenly looked so grown up to me today and as I sat there watching his eyes get heavy I just thanked God for the beautiful blessings He has given me, sometimes I take them for granted. I prayed that God will always watch over them both thanked Him for giving me one more memory to tuck away in my heart. I gave my little boy a kiss and whispered I love you. What a perfect ending to a great weekend.
